We all aspire to age well and remaining as independent as possible. However, as we age, our needs will change. Living in a community able to provide more services to accommodate those changes can make a difference in quality of life. Newton Village’s full continuum of care offers just that.
What Is a Full Continuum of Care?
Full continuum of care is a combination of all levels of senior housing: independent living, assisted living, memory care, rehabilitation and long-term care. This means that if residents need more services or care as they age at Newton Village, it is all right there on one campus. In other words, older adults can age in place.
What Are Benefits of a Full Continuum of Care?
Because residents age in place, the staff can get to know them well. Residents are more than just a name. Staff learn their likes, dislikes, requests and needs in order to serve them well. There is comfort in knowing if you need care, you’re not going to a place where no one knows you.
Residents who need occupational, speech or physical therapy can take advantage of such services on site. They don’t need transportation to a different facility. In fact, they don’t even have to go outside. They can walk through the building right to the gym set up for a variety of therapy needs.
A full continuum of care offers convenience for couples in which one individual needs a higher level of care than the other. Instead of living in different communities, they can live under the same roof, share time with each other, eat meals together, etc.
What Makes Newton Village Unique?
Newton Village is managed by Cassia, a faith-based nonprofit with roots dating back to the 1800s. As such, the community offers spiritual care. That includes a space for religious services and other events alike. A full-time chaplain offers guidance and support while respecting each residents’ faith background.
Newton Village exudes small town hospitality. Residents routinely sit on the front porch and welcome guests. Activities, events and meals keep residents connected. Speaking of meals, Newton Village employs a chef. Independent Pinnacle Quality Insight surveys continually show that residents consistently rank the community’s quality and variety of food far above the national average.
While Newton Village offers a full continuum of care, it is not a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC). There is no community fee or endowment. Rather than paying up front, residents simply pay a security deposit and cover the costs of services as needed. Newton Village discloses all costs for services up front.
A Bonus for Pet Lovers
Many people consider pets part of their family. Newton Village allows small pets in independent living and assisted living. That way, residents don’t have to make a difficult decision to leave a pet behind when making the move.
